Pirates of Caribbean: On Stranger Tides hasn’t even opened up in the U.S. yet and it’s already broken box office records. The film debuted in 70 countries on Wednesday and has already grossed $18.5 million – $5 million more than Pirates 3. In Russia, it made $5 million on its opening day, giving Russia it’s biggest movie opening to date. This could be due to the fact that Johnny Depp attended the Moscow premiere, a first for the franchise. Star Geoffrey Rush attended the Australia premiere, while Penelope Cruz took a trip back home to attend the Spanish premiere in Madrid.
